Synopsis: I'm Jaz Parks. I have many strings to my bow: assassin for the CIA, a black belt in taekwondo, belly dancer ... OK, the last is just a cover for my current mission: retrieve a prototype armor of biotechnology by killing the maniac who stole it. Namely Chien-Lung, a vampire obsessed with dragons and invulnerable as he wears this armor art ... that is to say constantly. And then there are the Raiders, monsters from the dawn of time who kill innocent people to devour their souls. The only problem is that I can detect their presence. Then they either will not be long want to ... my death.
My opinion:
History: This time, Jaz finds himself chasing a villain who has stolen a Chinese of the fantastic inventions of Bergman and which formed uses to trigger a war. Aided by his new team, she will do everything to thwart the dastardly Chien-Lung and his gang.
Characters: Jaz is always true to herself, hothead and react like clockwork. Its power has grown considerably since book one, like its Related Vayl, the vampire team. The other members are more present than in the first volume. We Cassandra the medium, the insert Cole (former private detective met in Volume 1) and Bergman always, the technology specialist. They bring a lot to Jaz and allow it to survive several times. They are a cohesive team (except when they shouting at each other) and they try to complete their mission.
What I liked: Humor is always present, the spread of Jaz and the team are at times very well found. There is of course of action, the big bad they are pursuing since Volume 1 is always a backdrop. Very few quiet moments, the characters are always in the thick of the action. The relationship between Jaz and Vayl begins to evolve very slowly for now. I enjoyed the few moments of normalcy from Jaz, either when she talks about her niece or when they are with the family of Chinese.
What I did not like: as for Q1, I found the author moves quickly from one moment to another, especially during crises Jaz. This unsettled me two or three times, to believe that I was not focused enough during my reading. In addition, The author addresses this problem continues Jaz during 3 / 4 of the book in a jiffy ... A bit simple for me! I also expect a bit more about the characters, the author says little detail ...
Note: 15/20
Finally: the occasion I will definitely continue this series but it is not part of my priorities and my PAL brimming with other series I like more!
