I wanted first to thank Livraddict and Castelmore for partnership on this book!
My opinion:
History: On the one hand Griff, a young boy from a simple medium and other Lute, the crown prince. Everyone has their problems, everyone has their enemies but their meeting will help them get out of dangerous situations. Griff is able to read minds and is forced to use it in the circus where he works. Following the call for help Lute he hears in his head and to save Tess and her friends from the circus, he'll flee the circus and go on an adventure.
Characters: We meet first Griff with his two brothers who recently joined a circus. His job is to help set up the tent but after a blunder, the Chief Circus realizes he can read minds. Griff is not proud of his gift and learned to block people's thoughts but the director wants to use to make money. It is a simple boy who loves life and family. He will meet with Tess, a young girl to escape stalkers was bought by the circus with his animals. They will immediately make friends and try by all means to escape the life Master Tyren their promises. At King's Castle, we met Lute, Pilo Crown Prince and his faithful friend and tutor. Both agree there wonderfully and when life is threatened Lute, Pilo not hesitate to put his own in danger. These four characters are the most important for me in this book. The secondary is very nice (Olof bitter, Thom Little, Lute's parents, brothers Griff) is very bad (Janko's uncle or Tyren Lute, the master of the circus). In any case the author gives us the keys to get to know and love (or hate!).
What I liked: The strong point as you could you doubt it is for me the characters. The story is very well written and even if the end seems predictable I enjoyed following them in their adventures. Magic shows is rather the side of good, I really liked the story of Pilo and whistle as well as the ability to communicate Lute, surprisingly. Animals, friends of Tess are also amazing and we took a liking to them. The author manages to make us travel with little money and a simple story but well fed!
What I did not like: History is certainly not very hard to predict and events but is not very pleasant to read and the characters are colorful!
Note: 17/20
Finally : The cover of this book is wonderful! I have the T1 of the trilogy by Fiona McIntosh last breath in my PAL, common reading scheduled for the month of June!
