Synopsis: This time, Mac has definitely changed and has nothing to do with the girl and glamor evaporated who arrived in Dublin. It has become an integral part of the game fatal unfolding in the shadows of city streets. She may find that looking at both fae and humans, the black book, The Sinsar Dubh, which corrupts all who touch it. Mac but soon discovers that the situation is even worse than it believed. Surrounded by betrayal, she can distinguish her allies from her enemies and she is sure of one thing: Halloween is coming and its time is running out.
Caution, risk of spoilers on the previous volumes
My opinion:
History: Mac begins to understand the extent of its powers and want at all costs keep the two men in her life (and thump Barrons) away from the book as she does not know what their true intentions. The proximity of the book still makes illness, but she has found the solution to reach the track in Dublin. Unfortunately for her, a more urgent task awaits him, trying to contain the Unseelie their kingdom cursed.
Characters: Mac and Barrons ... I will say that these two give meaning to the phrase "playing cat and mouse"! Mac is no longer the little girl short skirt and high heels she was at the beginning of the first volume. While she regrets that time, in its hunt Barrons book leaves him too much more occasion to dress other than black with boots! And then Barrons, even if it is not very far (less than what one might wish!) is always true to himself, dark and mysterious. Thump it is no longer present, Mac tries to make himself a "partner" whom you can rely in case of trouble (and it looks for problems!). It was also the little MacKeltar (his Christian name) who tries to seduce Mac, both to learn more about his mentor and because she likes him! And of course there is the dark side of our "heroes", the High Lord and his minions, the Unseelie, released on Earth to destroy all human life.
What I liked: Almost everything! I still love the verbal jousting between Mac and Barrons, the fact that he tries to teach him things (you know what, you hurry to read it) and each time it is stronger than last time. Mac has also evolved a lot and tries not to trust everybody and to rely only on itself. His revenge on the death of his sister remains his priority. The author manages to lead us to follow him convincingly and when it suffers, we suffer and when it is happy, too. (Well, I will like it happens a certain thing but a priori the author decided to make us suffer on that side!) Characters, although many are fairly well described and I can well imagine the sidhe-seers in the abbey that protect or Mac and Barrons trying the "voice"!
What I did not like: I found the beginning a bit long (the first 100 pages) but the end result and catch a lot
Note: 17 / 20
Finally: the authors manage to do for volumes that give really want to read more! Fortunately, it is in my PAL! For cons, the last book is not out yet, I'll wait a bit before read the T4!
